Gobindganj newspaper owner Helal Uddin’s house burnt to ashes

The house of Mr. Helal Uddin, son of the deceased Abul Kashem, was burnt down in Jirai village of Mahimaganj union of Gobindganj upazila in Gobindganj town newspaper hawker Md.
On Friday (October 14) around 11 a.m., his two houses were completely gutted in a sudden fire incident. At that time, the house was destroyed in front of everyone’s eyes as no one could come near to help as the electric lines were on. Helal said that he went to Gobindganj town on Friday morning like every day to sell newspapers. From there, he got the news of the fire on the phone and returned home to find that both his houses were burnt to ashes. At that time, Helal’s wife and mother went to the Union Parishad after locking the house. In this five-minute fire, 60,000 taka cash, 5,000 taka prize bond, bed and rice clothes and all other items were burnt to ashes.
A unit of Gobindganj Fire Service was sent to the spot on receiving the information but returned midway after receiving information that the fire was extinguished.
Mahimaganj Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Anwarul Islam Pradhan and local UP member Shaheen Sheikh visited the spot. Gobindganj Upazila Parishad Chairman Abdul Latif Pradhan has assured the affected family of all possible assistance.
