Rally of Sylhet District Administration on International Disaster Mitigation Day

A colorful rally was organized by District Administration Sylhet on the occasion of International Disaster Mitigation Day.

This Thursday morning from the office of Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Sylhet Deputy Commissioner. A discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner at the end of the colorful rally under the leadership of Mujibur Rahman.

The theme of the International Day for Disaster Mitigation-2022 was ‘Disaster Early Warning, Action for All’.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Under the chairmanship of Anwar Sadat and under the direction of Sylhet Sadar Upazila Project Implementation Officer Muhammad Hiron Mahmud, Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Md. Mujibur Rahman said that in order to reduce the damage of the disaster, there must be advance preparation. The loss of life and property can be minimized if people are informed and evacuated at the right time. In addition to the government, he called on all levels to come forward.

District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer, Deputy Director Md. Nurul Islam gave a welcome speech at the beginning of the program. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education & ICT) Tausheef Ahmed.
Besides, President of Sylhet Press Club Iqbal Siddiqui, Journalist and Columnist Aftab Chowdhury, District Coordinator of BRAC Anik Ahmad Apu, Additional Superintendent of Police of Sylhet District along with Md Al Amin of Save the Children, Executive Magistrates of District Commissioner’s Office and Upazila Project Implementation Officer, Sylhet also spoke. Representatives of Sadar and Government/Private Organizations participated.

After the discussion, a drill was held with the students at the initiative of fire service and civil defense at Rajajisi High School.
