EC failed to deliver fair elections: Mirza Fakhrul
Thakurgaon Representative/
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has commented that the Election Commission has failed to conduct a fair election.
He made this comment in an exchange meeting with journalists at BNP office in Thakurgaon on Thursday (October 13) afternoon.
He said, “This time the election commission failed to give a fair election despite using all its strength in the by-election of a national parliament. Because of that, they were forced to stop the election themselves. This proved the truth of our words that no election can be fair under a party government. Through this, it also sent the message that the election-time government is more important than the Election Commission.
Mirza Fakhrul said that the government during the election is more important than the Election Commission (EC). For the sake of the country, a new government system is needed to remove the current government. That’s why we started the movement. Happened in Chittagong. This government will be forced to resign quickly through agitation in every department.
Thakurgaon district BNP president Taimur Rahman, vice-president Noor Karim and various leaders and activists were present in the meeting.
