On Wednesday (October 10), the local fire service rescued an SSC examinee from the side of the railway line in Shahibagh area of ​​Sadar Union of Srimangal Upazila with serious injuries and took him to the hospital where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

The name of the deceased student is Fahad Rahman (18). He is a resident of West Kharyaura village of the upazila. Mohri Haji Fazlur Rahman of Srimangal Sub-Registrar Office is the elder son of Fazlur. Fahad participated in the SSC examination from Shah Mustafa High School in the city this year. Today was his practical exam.

According to family sources of the deceased, Fahad fell asleep in his room after having dinner with family members last night. At some time in the morning, he left the house without saying anything to anyone in the family.

Locals called 999 after seeing Fahad lying unconscious beside the rail line of Km 287/7 section of Srimangal railway station at around 7 am. After receiving information, Srimangal Fire Service reached the spot and rescued Fahad, who was seriously injured, and brought him to the Upazila Health Complex where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

Abu Taher, station officer of Srimangal Fire Service, said that a person named Johnny Alam of the area called 999 to report the incident, and the fire service was called from there. As soon as the news was received, the fire service personnel rescued Fahad from the spot and took him to the hospital in critical condition. The doctor on duty there declared Fahad dead.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Srimangal Railway Police Station Shafiul Islam Patwari said, given the situation and the statements of the local residents, it is believed to be an accident. However, for more confirmation, the dead body has been recovered and sent to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital Morgue for autopsy. The post mortem report can confirm the actual facts.

Meanwhile, the news of the death of Kriti student Fahad Rahman has cast a shadow of mourning on the entire Srimangal. Hundreds of people thronged the hospital soon after the news of his death spread across the city. At this time, the atmosphere of the hospital area became heavy with the cries of his family.
