BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir urged the government to resign immediately and hand over power to a non-partisan neutral government. He said, today the current government has endangered the independence and sovereignty of the entire country. They should resign immediately. Elections should be held under a non-partisan neutral government and an impartial Election Commission. Those who the people want will come to power in that election.
He said these things during a discussion meeting at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) Nasrul Hamid auditorium on Saturday (October 8) afternoon as the chief guest.
The meeting was held on the occasion of the 43rd founding anniversary of the Nationalist Ulama Party.
Mirza Fakhrul said that people are not safe in the country today. A woman was arrested at night for posting on Facebook. Today the government has threatened the independence and sovereignty of the country.
He said that Shahid Zia added ‘Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim’ and ‘Trust and trust in Allah’ to the constitution to honor the religious people of the country. People of Bangladesh are religious.
Criticizing the arrest of clerics, he said, “Today we feel sad. Many scholars have been arrested just because they are in favor of Islam. But we have not forgotten these things. When we were in power, we built mosque-based mass education and libraries. A library was also built in the temple.
He said, we all have to move forward unitedly in the difficult times going on today. It is not possible for a single political party to deal with a monstrous fascist regime. 35 lakh false cases have been filed against us. Sheikh Hasina and the government are responsible for all this. Because they are working with illegal orders. The special branch of the police has ordered to list the names of 8 people who do BNP and 5 who are financiers in every police station of the country. Is it democracy?
He also said that the government is not able to solve the Rohingya problem. Because of their knee-jerk foreign policy. A way to get rid of them. That is a fair and acceptable election under a neutral government.
Mirza Fakhrul said that the government should quickly resign and hand over power to a neutral government by forming a neutral election commission to conduct fair elections. In this case, the role of scholars is important to create public opinion. People want those who will come to power. Let’s jump into the movement together. We want a state of social values without discrimination.
