Bus collides with tree in Gopalganj, 4 killed including policeman

Four passengers, including a policeman, were killed when a passenger bus lost control and collided with a tree in Gopalganj. At least 10 people were injured in this accident.
The accident took place at Chandradighlia area of Dhaka-Khulna highway of Gopalganj Sadar upazila at 7:30 am on Friday (October 7).
The deceased are Constable Abdul Alim (30) working in Barisal District Police and Zainal Abedin (22) of Bagerhat Sadar. The identities of the other two were not immediately known.
Gopalganj Fire Service Deputy Director Abul Kalam Azad confirmed the matter. He said that a Chittagong-bound Didar Paribahan bus from Khulna lost control and hit a nearby tree when it reached Chandradighlia area. On receiving the information, fire service personnel came and conducted a rescue operation with the help of police and locals.
Fire Service Officer Abul Kalam Azad also said that three died on the spot and one on the way to the hospital. At least 10 people were injured. They were rescued and admitted to Gopalganj 250-bed general hospital.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gopalganj Sadar Police Station. Nasir Uddin said that police and fire service personnel recovered the body and sent it to Gopalganj General Hospital morgue.
