RAB arrested son-in-law Farhad (35) in the case of rape of mother-in-law in Naogaon. He was arrested in front of Chandalbhog Jame Masjid of Turag police station in Dhaka early on Wednesday (October 5).

Farhad is the son of deceased Mannan of Dubalhati Bangaon village of Naogaon Sadar police station.

This information is known from a press release sent from RAB-5 Natore camp. Farhad was handed over to Naogaon Sadar police station.

According to the press release, when the 11-year-old grandson died, the victim’s mother-in-law went to her son-in-law Farhad’s house to see her daughter. On September 21, after eating, the mother-in-law fell asleep in the next room around 10 pm. Around 3 am, Farhad secretly went to his mother-in-law’s room and touched her sensitive area. When the victim realized and tried to call her daughter, Farhad grabbed her face and forcibly raped her against her will, threatening to kill her. The victim did not tell anyone out of fear and shame. The next day around 4 o’clock in the afternoon, when the victim became physically ill, she informed her daughter about the matter and was admitted to Naogaon Sadar Hospital for treatment. After that, the victim filed a case at Naogaon Sadar Police Station as the plaintiff.
