Dainik Bangla Editor and Ekushey Medalist Toab Khan has passed away. His burial was completed at Banani Cemetery in the capital on Monday.
Sharifuzzaman Pintu, executive editor of Dainik Bangla, Hasan Imam Rubel, executive editor of Newsbangla, Toab Khan’s nephew Salim Khan, Toab Khan’s younger brother Obaidul Kabir Khan, Toab Khan’s younger brother, Toab Khan’s younger brother Salim Khan and family members and relatives were present there.
Earlier, the third Janaza of Towab Khan was held at Gulshan Central Jame Masjid after Asr.
On Monday morning, the first funeral of Toab Khan was held at the office of Dainik Bangla and NewsBangla in Tejgaon of the capital. Earlier, it was announced to launch ‘Toab Khan Memorial Award’ for special contribution in journalism.
Daily Bangla Acting Editor Sharifuzzaman Pintu said there, this award will be given every year for special contribution in journalism. The details of this award will be announced very soon.

At that time Toab Khan’s wife Hajera Khan, daughter Tania Khan, younger brother Obaidul Kabir and his nephew Salim Khan, executive editor of Ajker, were present.
Toab Khan was a lifelong member of the National Press Club. He left the press club premises forever on Monday afternoon after being soaked by the funeral and the respect of people from all walks of life. The second Janaza of Toab Khan was held at the tennis ground of the National Press Club at 1 pm. Later, journalist leaders including cabinet members, journalist organizations and people from all walks of life paid tribute to him.

After the Janaza, Toab Khan’s body was placed on a makeshift altar in the press club’s tennis ground. At this time, the Minister of Education paid tribute with flowers. Dipu Moni, Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim, Jatiya Press Club President Farida Yasmin, Prothom Alo Editor Matiur Rahman, Samakal Acting Editor Mozammel Hossain and Advisory Editor Abu Saeed Khan, Prothom Alo Associate Editor and Fiction Writer Anisul Haque, Toab Khan’s younger brother Obaidul Kabir Khan. Besides, National Press Club, Press Institute of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists, Dhaka Journalists Union, Dhaka Reporters Unity, Bangladesh Sub-Editors Council, Prothom Alo, Kalerkantha, Janakantha, Samakal, Bangladesh Journalists Welfare Trust, Women Journalists Center, Muktijoddha Journalists Forum , National University, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy including various organizations and individuals.
The body of Toab Khan was taken from the National Press Club to the Azad Mosque in Gulshan. His third Janaza was held there around 4 pm. After that Towab Khan was buried in the grave of daughter Esha Khan in Banani cemetery.
