4 killed in Dhaka-Sylhet highway accident

Four people, including three passengers of a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw, were killed when a vegetable truck crushed them in Raipura of Narsingdi on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway. Five more people were injured in this accident in the Mahmudabad Machin Ghar area of Raipura Upazila on the highway at around 6:30 am on Sunday.
The deceased are Siddique Mia (55), son of Alauddin Mia, son of Mahmudabad Machinghar area of Raipura upazila, CNG Yatri, son of Badsha Mia of Birshrestha Matiur Nagar village of the same upazila. CNG passenger Abul Kalam (35), son of Siddique Mia (62) and Abul Kashem of Puradia area of Belab Upazila. The identity of the other victim is yet to be known. He was also a passenger of CNG.
Bhowrab Highway Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mozammel Haque confirmed this information. He said the truck driver lost control and hit an autorickshaw. We reached the spot and recovered the body. Two vehicles involved in the accident have been impounded. The truck driver fled.
