President Ibrahim Raisi has condemned the ongoing movement in Iran on the issue of hijab. He also warned that the rioters will be severely suppressed.

He issued this warning in an interview broadcast live on Iranian state television on Wednesday night.

Ibrahim Raisi said those who took part in the riots should be dealt with firmly – this is the demand of the people.

Blaming the United States for this instability, the Iranian president said that the enemy has targeted national unity and wants to pit the people against each other.

Kurdish woman Masha Amini died on September 16. Three days earlier, she was arrested by Iran’s morality police for not wearing hijab. Protests started across Iran over this death. 76 people have been killed so far in this protest.

Masha’s lawyer Saleh Nikbakht said Masha Amini’s grieving parents filed a complaint. They want a thorough investigation into the incident. They also demanded to release all the videos and pictures of him while in police custody.
