The court issued a show-cause notice to Ankhi Khatun, the defender of the SAFF Games champion women’s football team. Just as there was a nationwide jubilation over footballer Ankhi, the police turned up at Ankhi’s house with a show-cause notice.
This incident took place with the government land given to Ankhi.
The incident took place at Ankhi’s house in Parkola village of Shahjadpur upazila of Sirajganj on Wednesday (September 21) evening. The joy of the people of Ankhi’s house instantly turned to sadness when Shahjadpur police station Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Mamunur Rashid and a constable in plain clothes appeared with this notice sometime earlier that evening.
At that time, the ASI of Shahjadpur police station told Ankhi’s father Akter Hossain that the son of the dead Mecher Prang of Dwabaria village. Makram Prang has recently filed a case in the Additional District Magistrate Court of Sirajganj as the plaintiff alleging the illegal occupation of land in Dwabaria Mauza. As a result there is a possibility of murder and injury, the court has asked both parties to maintain the status quo in the said property.
Five people including footballer Ankhi have been made defendants. When Ankhi’s father Akhtar Hossain was requested to accept the court notice in this regard, he refused to accept it. As a result, the ASI got angry and treated him discourteously. Joy turns to sadness among all present. Later, Shahjadpur police station officer-in-charge (OC) Nazrul Islam and Shahjadpur upazila executive officer Tariqul Islam expressed regret over the incident.
As the family of footballer Ankhi is very poor, recently on the instructions of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Sirajganj Deputy Commissioner Dr. Farooq Ahmad Shahjadpur Upazila’s town capital Dwabaria Mauza No. 1 Khas Khatian of that property in the name of Ankhir gave ownership of eight hundred acres of land.
A few days ago Ankhir officially handed over the land deed to his parents. As a result, through the Prime Minister, Ankhi had a headache. Akhtar Hossain, Ankhi’s father, has claimed that he is plotting to occupy the land by misleading the court through a fake document.
