In Habiganj, hundreds of people were injured in the clash between two sides over the occupation of Jalmahal

Hundreds of people, including women, have been injured in clashes between the villagers of Tongirghat and Ramnagar of Tegharia Union of Habiganj Sadar Upazila over fishing from the reservoir. Not only that, they clashed when they arrived at the hospital. Then due to delay in providing treatment, doctors and brothers were attacked. At one point they escaped. Sadar Thana police came to the hospital after getting the information and the situation calmed down. The seriously injured and 10 injured have been sent to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.

Clashes took place from 6:00 am to 10:00 am on Thursday. On receiving the information, a group of police led by Golam Mortuza of Habiganj Sadar Model Police Station (OC) reached the spot and brought the situation under control with the help of locals.

It is known that Jamshed Ali and Afzal Mia of Tongirghat area have been in dispute for a long time regarding the possession of Jalmahal. This morning Bagadli went fishing in Jalmahal with native weapons. They attacked each other and counter-attacked. At some point, a clash started between the two sides. Hundreds of people were injured on both sides.

Among those injured in the clash are Seblu Mia, Jamshed Ali, Samshed Ali, Kitab Ali, Azizur Rahman, Yasin Mia, Nanu Mia, Monirul Haque, Alamin, Imman Ali, Kalam Mia, Saidur Rahman, Abdul Qadir, Ayat Ali, Enamul Haque, Qudduch Ali, At least 30 people including Ekhlach Mia, Ala Uddin have been admitted to the hospital. Others were given first aid.

Meanwhile, the two sides clashed even after coming to the hospital for treatment. Later, a team of police led by SI Waheed Gazi of Sadar police station brought the situation under control.

Habiganj Sadar Model Police Station (OC) Golam Mortuza told CNBangladesh that he and a team of Sadar Police Station went to the spot. Later he brought the situation back under control with the help of locals.
