Bandarban businessman abducted and killed: Five sentenced to death
Bandarban Correspondent: Five accused have been sentenced to death and each accused has been fined ten thousand rupees for killing a cow trader named Chtta Mia (45) in Bandarban.In addition,The court ordered seven years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of ten thousand rupees for removing the evidence of the crime.In default,The court ordered another six months imprisonment.
District and Sessions Judge of Bandarban Md.Fazle Elahi Bhuiyan gave the verdict on Tuesday (September 20).
According to the court sources,The convicted accused Uchingnu Marma (22), Uba Ching Marma (30),Ching Nu Mong (23),Mong Nu Mong (50) are residents of Luline Hedman Para of Bandarban Sadar Upazila.The other accused Mang Thu is a resident of Lulain Purnabasan Para of the same upazila.
The accused Ray Aung Marma was acquitted in the case as the charges against him were not proved.Convicted accused Ching Nu Mang Prakash Hada was present in the court when the verdict was pronounced and the rest of the accused are absconding.The plaintiff in the case.Amju Mia expressed satisfaction with the verdict.
