Thakurgaon Representative/
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that there is no democracy and control in the country. What the government officials are doing, they don’t even have an accounting. Presently those who are MP, Chairman, there is no accountability for their work. They are doing whatever they want. As a result, the entire system has been destroyed today. To be very clear, the survival of the people of the country has now become difficult.
He said that the Awami League government is doing all the necessary things to stay in power. They are not considering the interests of the people. That is why they destroyed free democracy long ago.
Mirza Fakhrul said this in an exchange meeting with journalists at his residence in Kalibari of Thakurgaon town on Thursday morning.
Mirza Fakhrul also said that we will not go to any election under this government. This is our irrevocable decision. There is no question of going to elections without a neutral government.
BNP Secretary General said, we have no comment on the appointment of new IGP of Police. BNP and the opposition parties who are agitating will win by a huge margin if the election is held under a caretaker government.
Mirza Fakhrul said, free journalism was destroyed by Awami League long ago. They have enacted various laws, including the Digital Security Act, to stifle the voice of journalists. Journalists are being killed and persecuted. No one dares to say or write anything. Opportunists don’t want to move from those places.
He also said that different classes of people have been kept happy with different things. This is why they say this type of government is good. You have to get out of this place. 42 percent of people are living below the poverty line. There, how to make Bangladesh a developed country, how to make a middle income country. They are not possible. No one is safe here. No judgment. Judiciary is partisan. Police is partisan, administration is partisan. The university is partisan. Teachers are appointed here with a bribe of 12 lakh taka. So how will the teacher teach?
Thakurgaon District BNP General Secretary Mirza Faisal Amin, Vice President Obaidullah Masud and leaders of various BNP organizations were present at this time.
