Sylhet District Youth Dal’s newly-elected general secretary Maqsood Ahmad was picked up by law enforcement forces in the early hours. He is currently on bail in all cases. Sylhet Metropolitan BNP convenor Abdul Qayyum Jalali Panki and member secretary Miftah Siddiqui strongly condemned and protested against such incidents of harassment.

In a statement sent to the media, they said, the newly-elected general secretary Maqsud Ahmad, who was on the streets in the movement for the restoration of democracy, was taken away from his house by breaking the door of his house early in the morning and being identified by the law enforcement agencies as the ultimate disgrace of the fascist Awami government. We are extremely concerned about such a shameful incident.

They said Maqsood is on bail in all the cases. There is no arrest warrant against him. The leaders strongly demanded that the removed Juba Dal leader Maqsood Ahmad be sent to court immediately.
