Prime Minister urged to increase crop production to deal with food crisis

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged to increase the production of crops to deal with the food crisis. He ordered to take measures to ensure that no land remains uncultivated for the sake of producing more crops.
He gave this instruction in the meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Tuesday. The Prime Minister presided over the meeting as the chairperson.
He joined the meeting virtually from Ganabhaban. ECNEC’s main meeting was held at the NEC conference room of the Planning Commission in Shere Banglanagar of the capital.
After the meeting, Planning Minister MA Mannan detailed various directives of the Prime Minister and other activities of ECNEC in a briefing. At this time, he also answered various questions of the journalists.
Six projects with an outlay of Tk 8,740 crore were approved in Ekne. Of this, government funding is 5 thousand 929 crores. The remaining 2 thousand 810 crore 65 lakh taka is foreign debt.
