Habiganj Representative/

A housewife named Rupiya Akter (40) was killed by her husband’s ax over a trivial incident in Ritchie village of Habiganj Sadar Upazila. On receiving the information, the police arrested the killer husband. The incident took place on Wednesday (September 7) around seven o’clock in the evening. On receiving the news, Superintendent of Police SM Murad Ali, Mahfuza Akhtar Shimul, Sadar Police Station OC Golam Mortuza rushed to Sadar Hospital and inquired about the matter. The mystery of what caused the murder is revealed. Immediately, Rupiya’s husband Rangu Mia (50), son of deceased Hormuz Ali of Ritchie Aidakona Bander house, was arrested.

It is known that twenty years ago Rangu Mia married Rupiya, the daughter of the deceased Rajab Ali of the same village. After marriage, 3 sons and a daughter were born in their married life. There were often arguments over small matters. On that day there was a discussion about the same issue. At one point Rangu Mia hit him on the neck with an axe. He collapsed on the spot. The family members rescued him and brought him to Habiganj Sadar Hospital where the doctor declared him dead.

Sadar police station sent the dead body to the morgue. OC said, there are injury marks on Rupiya’s body. Rupiya’s husband has been arrested. Investigation is going on whether anyone else is involved in this incident.
