Illegal structures have been cleared by a task force raid in the forest department area of ​​Jaflong in Goainghat upazila of Sylhet.

Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate of Goainghat on Tuesday afternoon. Under the leadership of Tanvir Hossain, an operation was conducted in an area called Sonatila adjacent to Jaflong Green Park.

During the campaign, 5 acres of land was freed, along with the eviction of 28 illegal structures built by occupying the land of the Forest Department. Sylhet District Assistant Forest Conservator Abu Bakkar Siddique, Sari Range Officer Md. Saad Uddin and Goainghat police station SI Emrul Kabir along with members of police and forest department.

After the operation, Sylhet District Assistant Conservator of Forests Abu Bakkar Siddique said that 28 structures including illegal shops and residences were evacuated from the forest department of Sonatila area during the operation of the task force. Such campaign of district administration will continue in public interest to protect forest and environment. In this regard, the stone traders who are running their business by destroying the forest and environment have been strictly warned.
