Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is meeting with Foreign Minister S Jaishankar on the first day of her visit to India. The meeting is being held at the Embassy of the Government of Bangladesh in Delhi.

Indian news media ANI reported this information in a tweet.

Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport at 12 noon local time on Monday (September 5) on a four-day visit at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Upon arrival at the airport, Sheikh Hasina was given a red carpet welcome. Meanwhile, a cultural group of six to seven members welcomed Bangabandukanya by dancing and playing musical instruments.

According to the itinerary, after the meeting, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh will visit Delhi’s Nizamuddin Auliya Dargah, after returning from there he will meet with Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani.

The Prime Minister’s four-day state visit is expected to include trade, energy, common river water distribution and cooperation in resolving the Rohingya crisis. Further enhancing defense cooperation between the two countries, expanding regional connectivity initiatives and establishing stability in South Asia are also high on the agenda of the visit, ANI reported.
