A day-long entrepreneurship and job fair was held in Moulvibazar

A day-long ‘Entrepreneurship and Job Fair’ was held in Moulvibazar by IDE Bangladesh (International Development Enterprise) in collaboration with Moulvibazar district administration.
Moulvibazar District Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan inaugurated the fair on Monday (September 5) morning at the city’s Bengal Convention Hall.
Under the chairmanship of Additional District Commissioner (General) Tania Sultana and under the direction of District Child Affairs Officer Md Jasim Uddin Masud, Directorate of Agriculture Extension (DAE) Deputy Director (Acting) Mizanur Rahman and District Fisheries Officer Md Samsuddin were present as special guests. Md. Afzal Hossain, head of strategic partnership department of IDE, delivered the welcome speech at the opening session of the fair.
The day-long event was aimed at enhancing business and employment opportunities for the project’s Rural Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and youth, as well as showcasing their products, their services, exchanging views and ideas.
Empowering Entrepreneurs’ – a three-year (2020-2022) project funded by Chevron and Bangladesh Embassy of Switzerland. Under Chevron’s Bangladesh Partnership Initiative and Embassy of Switzerland’s Covid-19 Relief Assistance, the Entrepreneurship Project aims to contribute to the development of income, livelihood and above all the rural environment of rural communities living in Sylhet Division through entrepreneurship development, green job sector growth and market system strengthening.
Various organizations and individuals represented their products and services through 25 stalls at the fair, and some stalls also offered CVs and on-the-spot jobs.
