Marks Active School Chess Champs training workshop held at Bandarban
Bandarban Correspondent: Like all over the country,Bandarban also organized a training workshop on the occasion of Marks Active School Chess Champs Competition-22,A school based chess competition.
The general secretary of the district sports association announced the auspicious opening of the workshop and the mayor Md.Islam Baby.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration) Md. Nazim Uddin, Treasurer of District Sports Organization Mong Ching Pru were present as special guests in the training workshop held at Police Lines Hallroom on Sunday (September 4).
Chess coach and FIDE rated player Ratnajoy Tanchangya (Ratan) delivered the welcome address on the occasion.Bangladesh Chess Federation’s fide arbiter Shahjahan Kabir was present at the time.The program was conducted by the official of Chess Academy MA Momen Chowdhury.
On this day,102 students from 17 educational institutions attended the training workshop.
On Monday (September 5) and Tuesday (September 6) 7 rounds of competition will be held with school students.Students from class Six to Ten are participating in this tournament.Eight teams will be selected in Bandarban district where 4 players from each team will participate in the main game as a team and 2 players will be in reserve.
Organized under the overall supervision of Bandarban District Sports Association, Bangladesh Chess Federation and Abul Khair Group are sponsoring this tournament.
