BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has urged the party leaders and activists to ensure that the blood of Shaon, who was killed in the BNP-Police clash in Narayanganj, does not go in vain.
He made this call today Friday (September 2) at a memorial service in memory of Shaon in front of the party’s central office in Nayapaltan of the capital.
Before the funeral, BNP General Secretary said that Noor Alam and Abdur Rahim were killed in firing by the greedy forces of this government. Yesterday also our another brother Shaon died in Narayanganj, blood flowed. The government’s police force opened fire at numerous places across the country during the peaceful program of BNP’s foundation anniversary.
He said, Shaun’s blood can never go in vain. His sacrifice will make us stronger. We will bring down this government through the struggle we have started for the liberation of democracy, the struggle we have started, the struggle we have started for the liberation of the country leader Begum Khaleda Zia. We will peacefully involve the entire people of the country in this movement and we will achieve victory through the movement on the streets, Inshallah.
Fakhrul said, we will remember Shaon with respect. We will turn his grief into strength and we will defeat them by combining all the forces. Let us pray for the forgiveness of Shaun’s soul, may Allah grant him Paradise.
He complained and said, I went to Shawn’s house in the morning. Met his mother, met his family members. He (Shawn) worked as a welder in a welding factory and was an active youth worker. How inhumane, how heartbreaking. The government has not handed over Shaon’s body to his family either. At 2 o’clock in the night, the police took his body and buried it there. His party leaders, family members and friends were not allowed to attend the funeral.
BNP Secretary General said, since coming to power, this fascist government wants to establish a one-party rule through disappearances, murders, and they want to wipe out the opposition. In particular, they want to eliminate the BNP of the declaration of independence Ziaur Rahman, the BNP of the country leader Khaleda Zia, the BNP of our acting chairman Tariq Rahman.
BNP Standing Committee Member Nazrul Islam Khan, Chairperson Advisory Council Member Aman Ullah Aman, Abdus Salam, Abul Khair Bhuiyan, Central Leader Khairul Kabir Khokon, Habib Un Nabi Khan Sohail, Nazim Uddin Alam, Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anyi, Mafiqul Hasan were present at Naya Paltan’s funeral. Trupti, Abdus Salam Azad, Mir Sarafat Ali Sapu, Saiful Alam Nirab, Mir Nawaz Ali, Khandaker Abu Ashfaq, Rafiqul Alam Majnu of Mahanagar, Aminul Haque, Sultan Salahuddin Tuku of Juba Dal, Abdul Qadir Bhuya Jewel of Volunteer Party, Abu Taher of NDP, Khandaker Lutfar of Jagpar. Leaders and activists of various organizations including Rahman participated.
Earlier, BNP General Secretary Narayanganj Fatulla met the family of Raja Ahmed Shawon in Nabinagar Bazar and condoled with them and consoled the bereaved family members. He visited Shaon’s grave along with youth party president Sultan Salahuddin Tuku. BNP Secretary General gave financial donation to Shaon’s family on behalf of Tariq Rahman, Acting Chairperson of the party.
