Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has warned that due to the impact of Covid, the Russia-Ukraine war and the imposition of blockade by the United States to stop Russia, there may be a famine in the world.

In such a reality, he urged to be frugal, thrift and increase food production to control the situation.

The prime minister said this while inaugurating the 24th National Conference and 43rd Council Session of the Institute of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka on Thursday morning.

The Chief Minister was involved in the program through video conference from the Ganobhaban end.

Sheikh Hasina said that today we can see the footsteps of a famine all over the world, the people of the country should be saved from its effects. So not even an inch of land should remain uncultivated. Let him produce whatever is possible for him.

Encouraging rooftop gardens, the Prime Minister said that if something can be produced there, the pressure on the market will be reduced.

He said, I will say again, everyone should be active towards increasing the production, so that the people of Bangladesh do not suffer due to the shock of the global economic recession. We have to make our own arrangements.

“From now on we all have to be austere. must save. We must be careful not to overspend on anything. Because the economic situation of the world is getting worse day by day, you say USA, you say Europe, you say England everywhere but… today they are not able to provide electricity, they are ordering to limit the use of water.

The Prime Minister said that preparations should be made from now to face the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution.
