Miscreants shot and killed a jumchashi in Taracha Union of Rawangchari Upazila of Bandarban. The incident took place at Kadampurpara area of ​​Taracha Union around 2.30 pm on Tuesday. Police recovered the body from the spot in the evening. Police are yet to confirm who shot him dead.

According to local sources, Mangsai Marma (48) was returning home from Baraitali neighborhood on Tuesday around 2:30 pm. The miscreants shot him in the road before reaching his home in Kamdprupara. He is the son of Ching Hla Mong Marma of Kadampru neighborhood.

Locals saw his body lying on the road and informed the police. The local residents are not sure who killed him. It is said that the deceased was also working as a poet besides jum cultivation.

Abdul Mannan, OC of Rawangchari Police Station, said that a person has been shot dead in Kamdprupara of Taracha Union. The body was recovered from the spot in the evening. The reason why he was killed will be known after the investigation.
