Afghanistan also lost to Bangladesh after Sri Lanka

After five-time Asia Cup champions Sri Lanka, Bangladesh also lost to Afghanistan.

After winning two consecutive matches with 4 points, Afghanistan confirmed to play in the Super Four as the best team of ‘B’ group.

Bangladesh reached the edge of the abyss after losing against Afghanistan. The Tigers will face Sri Lanka in their next match on Thursday.

That match is like an undeclared final for both the teams. The winners of that match will play Afghanistan in the Super Four as the second team in the group.

Bangladesh scored 127 runs after winning the toss and batting first at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday. Mosaddek Hossain Saikat remains unbeaten with 48 runs from 31 balls for the team. Besides, former captain Mahmudullah Riyad scored 25 runs.

Chasing the target, the Afghan opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz returned to Sajghar after losing his team’s 15 runs in 4.1 overs. Mosaddek Hossain Saikat dismissed the other opener Hazratullah Zazai for 45 runs in 9.2 overs.

In the 13th over, Mohammad Saifuddin dismissed Afghan captain Mohammad Nabi lbw in the last ball of the over. Afghanistan lost 3 wickets for 62 runs in 13 overs.

After that, Ibrahim Zadran made an unbroken partnership of 69 runs from 33 balls with Najibullah Zadran and brought the team to the port of victory. Najibullah remained unbeaten with 43 runs off 17 balls. Ibrahim remained unbeaten with 42 runs off 41 balls.
