Khandkar Mukul Hossain, Assistant Revenue Officer of Benapole Customs House detained with Tk 25 lakh, has been temporarily suspended. Benapole Customs House Commissioner Abdul Hakim dismissed him on Sunday morning.

Khandkar Mukul Hossain, assistant revenue officer of Benapole Custom House along with Tk 25 lakh was arrested by a special intelligence agency from Dhaka airport on August 26.

After a day-long interrogation, he was handed over to Benapole Custom House officials on Saturday by the Special Forces Intelligence Agency for legal action.

According to customs sources, Tk 25 lakh was recovered from Mukul Hossain while traveling to Dhaka from Benapole via Jessore. He was going to Dhaka via the airport to smuggle this huge sum of money. But who is involved in this money laundering is being investigated. The National Board of Revenue will take legal action against him after questioning and investigating him.

Khandkar Mukul Hossain’s house is in Tangail district. He was working as Assistant Revenue Officer in Benapole Custom House.

According to Benapole Custom House sources, Mukul landed at Shahjalal International Airport from Jessore Airport on Saturday afternoon to go to his native Tangail. At that time, based on secret information, the members of the intelligence agency of the special forces arrested him. 25 lakhs was seized from him in a bag.

Benapole Customs House Commissioner Abdul Hakim said that Assistant Revenue Officer Khandaker Mukul Hossain has been temporarily suspended. The National Board of Revenue will take further action after the investigation.
