Mohammad Jahangir joined as the new managing director and chief executive officer of state-owned Rupali Bank Limited. Recently, he was appointed as the Managing Director and CEO of Rupali Bank Limited through a notification of the Financial Institutions Department of the Ministry of Finance.

He started his banking career in Rupali Bank in 1990 as an officer. Before joining as Managing Director and CEO, he served as Deputy Managing Director of Rupali Bank. During this time, he performed many important duties including Head of Credit Committee, International Department, Administration and Human Resources Department. Before this, he served as General Manager of the same bank in Dhaka South and Chittagong divisional offices with great reputation and integrity.

In his illustrious banking career, this experienced banker successfully performed many important duties including branch head, information technology department, alternate banking department. It was through his hands that Rupali Bank first started modern computerized banking operations from manual banking. Apart from banking activities, he is also involved in creative work.

He obtained M.Com (Management) and later MBA (Finance) from Dhaka University. In personal life, he is the father of two children. This distinguished banker participated in various training courses, seminars and workshops held in the country and abroad on banking activities and traveled to different countries including India, Malaysia during his long banking career. This famous banker was born in a noble Muslim family in Kabirhat Upazila of Noakhali district.
