CNG-truck collision in Ukhia, 4 killed

Four passengers of a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw were killed in a truck crash in Ukhia upazila of Cox’s Bazar. Three people were killed and one was injured on the spot. When the injured person was taken to the hospital in a critical condition, the doctor on duty declared him dead.
The accident took place at Hijlia Palang area of Ukhiya on Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf highway around 9:30 am on Saturday (August 27).
The deceased are Salma Khatun (45), wife of deceased Zainal Uddin of Bill village in Ukhia, Anwarul Islam (25) son of Gura Mia of the same area and Bidhudhar (40) son of Manindra Dhar of Fatekarkul village of Ramu upazila. However, the identity of the other person is yet to be confirmed.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ukhia police station Sheikh Mohammad Ali said that a collision between CNG and truck took place in Hijlia Palang area of Ukhia. Three passengers in the CNG were killed on the spot, one injured. When the injured was taken to the hospital, the doctor declared him dead.
