An official of Chittagong port said that 50 liters of Russian crude oil has entered Bangladesh. This oil is brought for testing.

Prime Minister’s Adviser on Private Industries and Investment Salman F. Rahman said that efforts are being made to bring oil through three oil tankers of the Shipping Corporation to save dollars.

In an exchange meeting at the Secretariat on Thursday (August 25), he said that oil will be imported from countries where the price of oil is low.

The issue of cheap fuel oil import from Russia has been discussed for several days. Initially offering to sell crude oil, the country is now interested in supplying refined oil as well. Oil samples have already been sent to Bangladesh.

But the whole thing is still in the early stage. And there are various complications regarding fuel oil import from the country including payment of price. Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation-BPC sources say that a meeting will be held with Russia soon.
