DMP Commissioner ordered not to embarrass the police

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Moha ordered not to embarrass the police force. Shafiqul Islam. Besides, the commissioner ordered to ensure that there is no suicide aid in the police station.
He gave such instructions to the policemen in the July monthly crime review meeting at the DMP headquarters on Wednesday morning.
At the end of the meeting, the instructions and speech of the police commissioner were highlighted in the press release of the DMP.
In the meeting, the DMP Commissioner said to gain people’s trust through good work and public involvement and to be extremely careful in policing.
Suman Sheikh alias Rumon (26) committed suicide at Hatirjheel police station in the capital on the night of August 19. According to the police, Suman committed suicide by tying his pants around the iron grill of the toilet. The scene of suicide is clear in the CCTV footage. Relatives alleged that Suman died due to negligence of police duty. If he had performed his duties properly, he would not have had the opportunity to be hanged.
Relatives and locals of the deceased protested in front of Hatirjheel police station. In this incident, two members of the police station were temporarily suspended and the police formed an investigation committee.
In such a context, on Wednesday, the DMP Commissioner said to be careful not to have anything that aids suicide in the police station. He said that no such act can be done which embarrasses the police force. He asked the Officer-in-Charge (OC) to make sure that there is no such thing as a suicide aide in the toilet.
The commissioner said that some political parties can try to create public dissatisfaction by spreading false information on various issues including price increase. He directed the police officers to prevent such attempts by gathering information in advance.
He said the police will not prevent peaceful political events, but strict legal action will be taken against those who commit arson or car vandalism in the name of politics.
He laid more importance on arrest warrant Tamil, case investigation, drug recovery and case settlement. The DMP Commissioner directed the senior officers to supervise these works.
He also said that according to the government instructions, the office will now start at 8 am. Because of this, there will be more traffic on the road during school hours. We will definitely cross the road if we see children waiting to cross the road. He instructed the OCs of each police station to strengthen patrol policing at the beginning and end of each school class.
At the beginning of the monthly crime review meeting, the Khatwari crime picture or crime report of last July is reviewed. DMP Commissioner gave various important directions to all concerned to maintain law and order and control the crime situation.
In the meeting, the DMP Commissioner awarded the best police officers in recognition of their good work in maintaining law and order and public safety in Dhaka city.
