1 killed in pickup van and CNG collision in Netrakona

A businessman named Md. Enamul Haque (46) was killed in a collision between a pickup van and CNG on the Netrakona-Mohangonj road. The tragic accident took place at Kandulia in Bangla Union of Netrakona Sadar Upazila on Thursday (July 23) afternoon. The deceased Enamul Haque is the son of Amir Hossain of Bhatipara village of Singha Union of Barhatta Upazila.
According to local residents and police sources, Enamul used to trade in dried Dried fish in the area. Besides, they have a family business in Dhaka, which his other brothers visit frequently. He had recently visited Dhaka on business. Enamul left Dhaka early on Thursday morning and reached Netrakona around 12 noon. Later, he left for Mohanganj after filling up with CNG.
When the CNGT reached Kandulia area of the district headquarters around 12:30 pm, it collided with a pick-up van coming from the opposite direction. As a result, the CNG skidded off the road and fell into a nearby field, and Enamul suffered serious head injuries. People present nearby rescued him in a critical condition and took him to Netrokona Modern Sadar Hospital. The doctor on duty at the hospital’s emergency department examined him and declared Enamul dead.
In this regard, Netrokona Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abul Khair said that the police have seized the pick-up van and the CNG that met with the accident. However, both drivers escaped. After the autopsy, the body has been handed over to the family. Appropriate legal proceedings are underway in this regard.
