Rab-5 has arrested a drug dealer with 112 bottles of Phencidyl while smuggling Phencidyl in a long-distance bus in Rajshahi metropolis under the guise of a passenger. This information was given in a press release sent from the headquarters of RAB-5, Rajshahi on Monday. RAB said that on Sunday night, based on a secret information, a check post was conducted on the Chapainawabganj-Rajshahi road at Karaitala intersection of Kashiadanga police station in Rajshahi metropolis.
At that time, a person named Md. Shahidul Islam (42), who was a passenger in a passenger bus of Zamzam Paribahan bound for Dhaka, was arrested. Arrested Shahidul Islam is the son of Naimuddin Sardar of Housenagar (Barik Bazar) area of Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district. According to RAB, 112 bottles of Phensidyl have been recovered from the custody of the arrested person. Of these, 55 bottles are Escaff and 57 bottles are Fairdeal brand Phensidyl.
During initial interrogation, RAB claimed that Shahidul confessed that he had been illegally collecting Phensidyl from Chapainawabganj for a long time and selling it in various parts of the country, including Rajshahi. A case under the Narcotics Control Act is being filed against him at Kashiadanga Police Station in Rajshahi, the press release said.
