Onion market fire. The price has gone up and out of the reach of the buyers. The government will import onions if the price does not decrease within two days. This is what Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi said.

The minister said these things while talking to reporters at his house in Shalban area of Rangpur city on Friday morning after arriving on a two-day visit. At this time, he urged everyone to work against the global recession.

Stating that the responsibility of raw market control is not the responsibility of the minister, he said, “It is not my responsibility.” We do not control everything in the raw market. There are different ministries for this. But overall the situation is not too bad. The raw market fluctuates, sometimes the price of vegetables increases, and then decreases.

The commerce minister said that there is only a problem with the price of onion and sugar. It will also be controlled quickly.

He said that the government has decided the price of sugar, but its impact has not yet been felt in the market. Consumer rights are working to ensure sale of sugar at government-fixed prices.

The Minister of Commerce said that the price of imported goods has increased slightly due to the increase in the dollar price. But globally we are doing well. Given the circumstances we have to endure.
