A college student was killed in a head-on collision between a motorcycle and a locally-made vehicle sand-carrying Katang at Baliakandi in Rajbari. The accident took place in Dharmatala area of Jungle Union of Baliakandi upazila around 1 pm on Tuesday.

Chayan Mandal Konkan (22) who died in a road accident is a student of Honors second year history department of Rajbari Government College. He is the son of Krishna Mandal of Banibah village of Sadar Upazila.

Eyewitnesses and locals said that Chayan Mandal Kangkan was coming from Dholjani Bazar along with his cousin Samen Biswas through Dharmatala village road.

At that time, when reaching Dharmatala area, the motorcycle collided with a sand-carrying Katang vehicle. Locals rescued both of them and took them to Baliakandi Hospital where doctors declared Kangkan dead.
