A Workshop on Psychosocial Support Held in Koyra

A workshop aimed at enhancing teachers’ skills in providing psychosocial support was held in Koyra, Khulna. It was held on Thursday (24 September) in the Upazila Ansar VDP training room, under the DIDRRM Call Programme. Implemented by Caritas Bangladesh (Khulna Region) and Access Bangladesh Foundation. in partnership with CBM Global Disability Inclusion.
The workshop was presided over by Yusuf Ali, Panel Chairman of Maharajpur Union. The chief guest was Tapan Kumar Karmakar, Upazila Education Officer. Special guests included Abul Kalam Azad, Social Services Officer, and Maulana Mizanur Rahman, Amir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Koyra Upazila. Also present were Tanzima Saiful, representative of CBM Global Bangladesh; James Rajib Biswas, Project Manager of the DIDRRM Call Programme; Firoz Al Mamun, Technical Co-ordinator; DIO Pronab Pal Chowdhury; Hasibul Hosen, Field Officer of Caritas Bangladesh; Shariful Islam, President of the Apex Body; and Antony Polok Haldar, Mill Officer of the project, along with teachers from various primary schools of Maharajpur Union.

The main objective of the workshop was to strengthen teachers’ capacity to provide psychosocial support so that they can play a more effective role in supporting students’ mental health and social well-being. It may be noted that CBM Global Disability Inclusion, Caritas Bangladesh and Access Bangladesh Foundation have been working for a long time in Koyra to ensure the inclusion and protection of persons with disabilities.
