A refresher training was held in Chapainawabganj to enhance the professional skills and awareness of professional drivers to prevent road accidents. The training was organized by the District Administration and Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA), Chapainawabganj at 10 am on Wednesday (September 2) at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room. Chapainawabganj Deputy Commissioner and learned District Magistrate Abu Saleh Musa Jangi was present as the chief guest at the program. Learned Additional District Magistrate Md. Anisur Rahman presided over the program.

The training discussed the safe and responsible driving of professional drivers, compliance with road transport laws, avoidance of excessive speed, proper adherence to traffic signals and road safety rules, and other things to be done to prevent accidents. The seminar was attended by Assistant Director (Engineering) of Chapainawanj BRTA Shahzaman Haque, Motor Vehicle Inspector BRT Kafiul Hasan Mridha, Civil Surgeon Medical Officer Dr. Rakibul Islam, TI 2 Aziz Ferdous, Mechanical Assistant Sajedul Islam.

Speaking at the event, Assistant Director (Engineering) of Chapainawanj BRTA Shahzaman Haque said that to reduce road accidents, there is no alternative to increasing the skills and awareness of drivers and driving according to the law. A minor negligence of a driver can cause major accidents and loss of life. Therefore, through training, drivers should be made more aware of their professional knowledge, sense of responsibility and safe driving.

He also said that keeping in mind the conviction of ‘driving dynamic vehicles, preventing road accidents’, all drivers, passengers and pedestrians should play a responsible role in ensuring road safety from their respective positions. A total of 80 professional drivers in the district participated in the refresher training.
