A complaint has been filed against Aunt Jasmine Akhter (25) for cutting off her nephew’s penis in Chatkhil Upazila of Noakhali. She fled immediately after the incident. Chatkhil Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Abdul Monnaf confirmed the matter on Thursday (July 23) afternoon. Earlier, the incident took place at Badsha Mia Bepari’s house in Majjadpara, Ward No. 2 of Khilpara Union of the upazila at around 2:15 am last Tuesday. The injured Jewel is the son of Kamal Hossain of the house.

Later, relatives rescued him in a bloody state and first admitted him to Chatkhil Upazila Health Complex. When his condition deteriorated, he was sent to Dhaka for better treatment. According to locals, Jewel had been in Oman for 11 years. He returned to the country about a month ago. Since the family mobile phone was broken while he was abroad, he used his aunt Jasmine’s mobile phone to communicate with his family members. In this way, they became close.

When Jewel came to the country, the closeness increased without the family members noticing. But after Jewel returned to the country, the family arranged a bride for him. When Jewel went to her aunt’s house late on Tuesday night, Jasmine cut off his penis and ran away. An attempt was made to contact Jasmine Akhter’s mobile phone to find out about this, but it was switched off.

OC Mohammad Abdul Monnaf also said that a relative of the victim came to the police station and reported the matter verbally. He was asked to file a written complaint. However, he did not come to the police station after that.
