Pick-up with Indian blankets seized in Purbadhala, Netrakona

Purbadhala Thana Police conducted a special anti-smuggling drive near Ichulia Bazar and seized 160 pieces of Indian blankets without an owner. Purbadhala Thana Police Officer-in-Charge Abdullah Al Mamun said in a press release sent to journalists working in various print and electronic media in the district that on the basis of a secret tip-off, a team led by Purbadhala Thana Police SI Mobarak Hossain saw a pick-up van near Ichulia Bazar in Khalishaur Union of Purbadhala Upazila at around 6:30 am on Tuesday (June 30), searched it and seized the pick-up van along with 160 Indian blankets in 16 bags.

The estimated value of the seized blankets is Tk 2 lakh 40 thousand. It is believed that the person who sensed the presence of the police and fled, leaving the vehicle with the goods behind. In this regard, the police station’s SI Mobarak Hossain filed a case against the absconding smugglers as the plaintiff.
