Quran competition held in Kalaskathi, Bakerganj
The grand finale and prize distribution of the Quran competition was held on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan at the initiative of the Islamic Youth Society of Kalaskathi Union in Bakerganj, Barishal.
The Quran competition was presided over by the convener of the competition, Abdullah Al Mamun and moderated by the member secretary, Hafez Md. Mizanur Rahman. Former chairman of Kalaskathi Union, Alhaj Shawkat Hossain Howlader, was present at the event. The acting chairman of Kalaskathi Union, Ariful Karim Dulal, was in charge of the overall supervision.
Every year, the Islamic Youth Society of Kalaskathi invites students to participate in the competition by putting up posters, distributing leaflets and promoting on Facebook. Out of 130 competitors in the competition, 42 competitors were selected for the final.
The guests presented awards to 18 winners in six groups of two categories in the final held in front of the Kalaskathi Union Parishad on the 20th of Ramadan. The union residents praised this initiative of the youth society and said that this arrangement is truly commendable in Ramadan.
The main discussant of the program, Ariful Karim Dulal, said that he would like to thank those who participated in the competition. Through the competition, students will take Quranic education to heart and bring positive changes in the society.
Joint convener Mohammad Maulana Shamim, member secretary Maulana Md. Shahjalal, member Md. Alauddin were also present at the time. The judges of the program were the Hafizs of various mosques in the union.
