Rally, discussion meeting held on the occasion of National Disaster Preparedness Day in Paikgacha

A rally, awareness discussion meeting and fire drill were held on the occasion of National Disaster Preparedness Day-2026 in Paikgacha under the initiative of Upazila Administration and Disaster Management Department. On Tuesday morning, March 10, a colorful rally was held from the Upazila Parishad premises after circumambulating the main road and a fire drill was held. Later, a discussion meeting was held in the Upazila Parishad auditorium under the theme “We will fight against disaster preparedness, build the Bangladesh of the youth” under the chairmanship of Upazila Executive Officer Wasiuzzaman Chowdhury. The meeting was moderated by PIO Rajib Biswas, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Fazle Rabbi, Agriculture Officer Krishibid Md. Ekramul Hossain, Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Saikat Mallick, Upazila Engineer Md. Shafin Shoaib, Social Service Officer Anath Kumar Biswas, Cooperative Officer Md. Humayun Kabir, Food Controller Md. Habibur Rahman, Family Planning Officer Abdullah Al Mamun, Academic Supervisor Mir Noor Alam Siddiqui, SFDF Officer GM Zakaria, Public Health Deputy Assistant Engineer Prashant Pal, etc. At this time, Sujoy Mistry of the PIO Office, Fatema Khatun, Monir Hasan Khan, Md. Sumon Al Mamun, officials of various departments, dignitaries, journalists, volunteers of CPP Municipality were present. The speakers at the meeting said that it is very important to prepare in advance according to the disaster forecast and to make people aware of all levels to reduce the loss of life and property. Upazila Executive Officer Wasiuzzaman Chowdhury called for reducing the risk of natural and man-made disasters, increasing public awareness and keeping the loss of life and property to a tolerable level and ensuring a quick response.
