Cheques worth 2.6 crore taka were distributed at DC office in Ctg

BRTA Trustee Board distributed cheques of financial assistance to the victims of road accidents,
Provided financial assistance to the families affected by road accidents.

Cheque distribution ceremony was held at the conference room of the Chittagong DC office at 2 pm today under the initiative of the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) Trustee Board.

At the ceremony, cheques of financial assistance were distributed to a total of 58 families affected by road accidents in Chittagong district. Out of these, a total of 46,00,000/- (forty-six lakhs) taka was distributed to the 26 injured families. In addition, 1,60,00,000/- (one crore and sixty lakhs) taka was distributed to the 32 families of the deceased, totaling 2.6 crore taka.

The ceremony was presided over by Chittagong Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah, Additional District Magistrate Syed Mahbubul Haque.
The event was also attended by K. M. Mahbub Kabir, Deputy Director (Engineering), BRTA, Chittagong Division and Uthoyinu Chowdhury, Assistant Director (Engineering), BRTA, Chittagong District Circle, Chittagong.

Also present among the representatives of the transport sector were Oli Ahmed, General Secretary, Chittagong District Road Transport Bus and Minibus Workers Union. Morshedul Alam Kaderi, Secretary General, Chittagong District Road Transport Owners Group. Mohammad Shahjahan, General Secretary, Chittagong Road Transport Owners Group. Abdul Mabud Talukder, General Secretary, Chittagong District Truck-Minitruck Owners Group.

Speakers said that it is the humanitarian and social responsibility of the state to stand by the families affected by road accidents. This financial assistance provided through the BRTA Trustee Board will help alleviate the immediate distress of the affected families.
