Army conducts election security drill in Lalmonirhat
A drill was held in Lalmonirhat on the occasion of the 13th National Parliament Election on the basis of para-commander rappelling and conducting a rapid rescue operation in the event of a situation arising in a remote char area. The drill, held at the Suhrawardy Path of the Lalmonirhat Railway on Monday (February 9), demonstrated readiness to provide assistance to the Election Commission and the civil administration.
The drill was led by Major General Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, General Commanding Officer of the 66 Infantry Division of Rangpur Cantonment. In this, various units of the army demonstrated rapid deployment, situation control, law and order maintenance and emergency response through helicopters.
This exercise, planned in accordance with the real situation, tested the ability to deal with any unwanted situation in the election environment. One of the highlights of the exercise was the Heliborne Operation, where the soldiers demonstrated the technique of quickly landing in a specific area and controlling the situation.
In addition, integrated command and control, information sharing, and effective coordination with the civil administration were also practiced.
In this, ordinary voters expressed hope that this preparedness and professionalism of the army will further strengthen the security and confidence of the people during the election period and will be helpful in ensuring a free, fair, and peaceful election.
