The funeral of Begum Rokeya was completed amid the tributes of the civil society in Netrakona. She was the founder of the Netrakona non-governmental development organization Swavalambi Unnayan Samiti (SUS), former executive director and former teacher of Netrakona Government Girls High School.

The body of Begum Rokeya alias Mastura (78) was buried Sunday morning. After the funeral prayer at Chandranath High School grounds in Malni, Netrakona district town, her body was buried at the Satpai Municipal Cemetery in the district town.

Earlier, when her body was taken to the local Shaheed Minar in the small market of the district town, various social organizations and people from different classes paid their respects.

She died on January 30 at a hospital in Stockholm, Sweden (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun).

He left behind two daughters, including the Swavalambi Unnayan Samiti, and countless admirers at home and abroad.
