NCP campaign to raise public awareness of the referendum in Gaibandha
To raise public awareness ahead of the referendum, the National Citizen Party (NCP) has intensified its field campaign in Fulchhari and Saghata upazilas of Gaibandha-5 (Fulchhari-Saghata) constituency.
The party is conducting direct public outreach, distributing leaflets and conducting awareness discussions in various markets, important roads and populated areas. The sole aim of the campaign is to present the issue of the referendum to the general voters in a simple manner and encourage them to participate.
It has been seen on the ground that NCP leaders and activists are campaigning in groups in the markets, ghat areas and surrounding villages of Fulchhari and Saghata upazilas. During this time, they are talking to the voters and explaining the purpose of the referendum, the voting method and its importance.
Brief information is presented through leaflets, so that even those with limited education or who are voting for the first time can understand the issue.
It has been seen at the field level that many voters are interested in learning about the referendum, but lack a clear idea. Considering this reality, NCP workers are trying to clear up confusion through question and answer sessions.
Voters from different classes and professions, including local businessmen, farmers, and working people, are responding positively to this campaign.
Many are trying to understand the issue by asking direct questions, which has made the program more lively. The NCP has informed that this campaign will continue continuously on the occasion of the referendum.
Similar awareness activities will be taken up in different unions and villages of Fulchhari and Saghata upazilas in phases, so that no voter is left behind due to lack of information.
According to locals, such direct mass communication programs are increasing interest among voters and creating discussions about the referendum. They hope that if awareness increases, people will go to the polling station with confidence and active participation in the democratic process will be ensured.
Masudur Rahman Arif, Joint Member Secretary of the National Citizens Party of Gaibandha District, who participated in the program, said that to ensure conscious participation in the democratic process, it is important to first create a clear idea among the people.
Therefore, they are going door to door and standing at public places to explain the referendum in simple language. Zahid Hasan Jiban, Ambassador of the Gaibandha-5 constituency nominated by the National Citizens Party (NCP), said that the main objective of this campaign is to create a clear idea among the people about the referendum.
Many people want to know how to participate and why it is important. We are trying to explain the issues in simple language so that people of all classes and professions can make decisions with confidence. Conscious participation of the people will put democracy on a solid foundation.
