Cox’s Bazar Model Press Club Executive Committee Approval

The Cox’s Bazar Model Press Club’s official debut, approval and introduction meeting of the newly formed 31-member executive committee was held with journalists working in the mainstream media.

The meeting was held on Friday (February 6) afternoon under the chairmanship of Cox’s Bazar Model Press Club President Imtiaz Mahmud Emon and moderated by General Secretary Mansur Alam Munna at the Sagarika Restaurant of the Tourist Motel Shoibal in Cox’s Bazar city.

It was informed in the meeting that the main goal of this press club is to collect objective and responsible news in Cox’s Bazar district, protect the professional rights of journalists and ensure the positive role of the media.

Senior Vice President Rezaul Karim (Voice World), Raihanul Islam Rizvi, Jasim Uddin (Sabuj Bangladesh), Nurul Abchar (Channel S), Abdul Amin Prakash Amin (Evening News), Jamal Uddin Member (Cox’s Bazar Bani), Md. Rashed (Daily Pratidin Kagoj), Mizanur Rahman (Bangladesh Pratidin), Assistant General Secretary Mujibul Haque Choton (Swadesh Bichitra), Jalal Uddin (Daily Mass Communication), Yar Rahman Anan (Alokit Sakal) and Helal Uddin (Jantaar Khabor) spoke at the event.

Also present were Organizing Secretary Minar Uddin Ali (Muktakhabar), Co-Organizing Secretary Faisal Alam Sagar (Daily (Nabochatona), Co-Organizing Secretary S. M. Lutfur Kabir (English Daily Morning Glory and Daily Ghoshana), Co-Organizing Secretary Mahbul Alam Minar (Somayer Kagoj), Md. Russell (Daily Muktakhabar), Office Secretary Atiqur Rahman Babu (Daily Pratidin Kagoj), International Affairs Secretary Md. Nurunnabi (STN), Legal Affairs Secretary Omar Farukh (Daily Ghoshana), Entertainment Secretary Nurul Islam Sumon (Daily Campus), Cultural Secretary Salauddin (Doinondin), Co-Cultural Secretary Nasim (Rajdhani TV) and other members of the club. A strong advisory council was formed unanimously in the meeting.

The advisory council includes the Deputy Commissioner of Cox’s Bazar, Civil Surgeon Dr. Mahmudul Haque, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Tanjila Tasnim, Additional DIG Tourist Police Apel Mahmud, tourism businessman and journalist Abdur Rahman, social worker and political figure AB Wahed, environmental and human rights activist journalist HM Ershad and executive member Atiqur Rahman Manik (Naya Diganta).

The journalists participating in the introductory meeting pledged to do objective, impartial and responsible journalism in the interest of the country and society.
