Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairman Tarique Rahman said that if BNP wins the upcoming elections on the 12th, one of the BNP’s tasks will be to implement the Teesta Master Plan. The construction of medical colleges and universities in this area will be implemented quickly. Saidpur Airport will be made an international airport. Kishoreganj Upazila will be developed as a regional hub.

He made these remarks at an election rally at the Nilphamari big field on Saturday (February 7) afternoon.

He further said, this election is not just an election for the people’s representatives but an election to rebuild the nation. An election to restore the lost rights of the people. We want to move the country forward. For this, we want to transform Thakurgaon, Nilphamari, Dinajpur and Panchagarh into industries. To implement our plans, we have to win by voting with the grain of rice. Nilphamari district is known as an agricultural region. We will develop this district as an agricultural region hub.

He said, “We will return the rights that were taken away from the people in the February 12 elections through votes. For the past 16 years, the dictatorship has only looked after its own interests. We want to form a government with the support of the people. We want to make the country self-sufficient in food.”

In the spirit of women, he said, “The country will not move forward if women are not involved in work. Khaleda Zia provided free education for women. We want to make women self-reliant. We want to provide family cards to every woman. Along with family cards, we want to provide agricultural cards to every farmer brother. Through this, loans can be taken easily. We want to waive off agricultural loans up to 10,000 taka. We want to repay the small loans taken from NGOs on behalf of the government and the people.”
Tarique Rahman further said, this area is dependent on agriculture. Just as we will stand by the farmers, we will develop agriculture-based industries in this area. So that employment is created. There are many youth who are unemployed. We want to train the youth and make them skilled workers. We have waged a movement and struggle. We want to rebuild the country with the people. To do this work, we will need the cooperation of the people.

At this time, BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, BNP candidate for Nilphamari 2 constituency Shahrin Islam Tuhin and candidates for four constituencies were present as the chief guests, under the chairmanship of District BNP Convener Mir Selim Faruk.
