5 arrested with drugs in special operation by Cox’s Bazar Sadar Police Station

In a special operation by Cox’s Bazar Sadar Model Police Station, police have seized a large quantity of Yaba tablets, cash obtained from Yaba sales, and gold ornaments, along with five drug dealers and arrested 10 fugitives with warrants in various cases.
Under the direction of the Superintendent of Police, special operations were conducted to recover Tamils, drugs and arrest armed terrorists under the overall supervision and planning of the Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle).
On January 25, 2026, a joint force raided the residence of the deceased Rahim Uddin Bahadur in the Nayapara area of ​​​​East Kharulia, Ward 08 of Jhilanga Union under Cox’s Bazar Sadar Police Station and arrested 4 drug dealers.
The arrested are Halima Akhter Babuni (27), Md. Faisal (25), Shamsunnahar (40) and Arzina Akhter (35).
During the operation, 550 pieces of Yaba tablets, 14 lakh 3 thousand 120 taka cash obtained from the sale of Yaba, 16 bhori 2 anna 2 rati (188.30 grams) of gold ornaments and 10 mobile phones of different companies were recovered from their possession and custody.
A case has been registered at Cox’s Bazar Sadar Police Station under the relevant sections of the Narcotics Control Act, 2018, and the arrested persons have been handed over to the court.
In addition, at night 2 am on the same day, in another operation by Cox’s Bazar Sadar Model Police Station, a man named Abdul Mannan (43) was arrested from the male medicine ward on the 5th floor of Sadar Hospital.
2,600 pieces of Yaba tablets were recovered from his custody.
A separate case has been filed in this incident and he has also been handed over to the court.
At the same time, 10 more fugitives convicted in various cases and those with warrants were arrested in a drive led by the Officer-in-Charge of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Police Station.
Warrants for several cases, including family cases, drug cases, speedy trials, and CR cases, had been pending against the arrested for a long time.
Police said that in light of the government’s announced ‘zero tolerance’ policy against drugs, Cox’s Bazar District Police is taking the strictest stance in eradicating drugs.
Such operations against drug dealers and criminals will continue in the future.
All the arrested accused have been handed over to the learned court as per the rules.
