Voter motivation meeting held for tea workers in Sreemangal
A voter motivation meeting was held for tea workers in Sreemangal, Moulvibazar, on the occasion of the upcoming 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum-2026.
The meeting was organized by the upazila administration at 9:30 am on Saturday at the Fulchhara Tea Garden field of Kalighat Union of Sreemangal Upazila.
Moulvibazar Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Touhiduzzaman Pavel spoke as the chief guest in the meeting organized.
Sreemangal Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Islam Uddin presided over the meeting, and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development and Human Resource Management) Md. Mamunur Rashid, General Manager of Finlay Tea Company Balisira Division Md. Salauddin, Acting President of Bangladesh Tea Workers Union Pankaj Kanda, Organizing Secretary Bijoy Hazra and Upazila Election Officer Rashedul Islam.
In order to hold a peaceful and festive election, the chief guest Moulvibazar Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Touhiduzzaman Pavel said, “Elections are the backbone of a democratic country. The vote of every tea garden worker is very valuable.
The administration is determined to ensure that you can go to the polling station and exercise your right to vote in a smooth, fearless and festive atmosphere. He called on the voters to be aware and elect honest and qualified candidates.”
Senior officials of the administration, Finlay Tea Garden authorities, leaders of various small ethnic groups and local public representatives were also present at the meeting.
