A woman has been arrested with a foreign pistol and a round of bullets in a special operation by Chakaria Police Station in Cox’s Bazar.

It is learned that on Tuesday (January 13, 2026) at around 10:30 pm, based on a secret information, a special team of Chakaria Police Station conducted a raid in the middle Palakata Kalachan Para of Ward No. 7 of Chakaria Municipality.

During the raid, when Mrs. Khurshida Begum (36) tried to escape after sensing the presence of the police, she was arrested with the help of female police members.

During the initial interrogation, the detained woman admitted that the weapons and bullets were kept secretly in the residence of her daughter’s son-in-law Bappi.

Later, in the presence of a local impartial witness, a search was conducted in the bedroom of Bappi’s residence in Palakata Imam Uddin Para, Ward No. 7 of Chakaria Municipality in accordance with the law and a foreign pistol and one round of pistol bullets were recovered.

The accused was arrested from the spot and the recovered weapons and bullets were seized based on the original seizure list. The police said that necessary legal action has been taken against the arrested accused. The arrested Khurshida Begum is a resident of Palakata area of ​​Ward No. 7 of Chakaria Municipality.
