Magura returning officer inspects various polling stations

Magura Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Md. Abdullah Al Mahmud and other responsible officials inspected various polling stations of Magura-1 constituency (Sadar-Sripur) on Tuesday morning to ensure that the upcoming 13th National Parliament election and referendum are conducted freely and peacefully.

Among others present at the time were Lt. Col. Mostaq Ahmed, Superintendent of Police Habibur Rahman, Major Md. Salahuddin, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Abdul Kader, District Election Officer Farazi Benazir Ahmed, District Ansar and VDP Commandant Md. Jasim Uddin, Additional Superintendent of Police Shibli Sadiq, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Dipankar Ghosh, Upazila Executive Officer and Assistant Returning Officer Md. Salek Muhid, Officer-in-Charge of Police Station Md. Shahin Mia and officials of various government departments at the district and upazila levels.

Starting from Barishat Kazipara Government Primary School Center under Magura-1 constituency at 10 am, he visited several important centers one by one, including Sreepur Government M.C. Pilot Secondary School Center, Kodla Government Primary School Center, Chowgachi Secondary School Center, Goaldaha Government Primary School Center, Nakol Raicharan Secondary School Center.

During this time, the Deputy Commissioner, District Returning Officer and other officials inquired about the overall infrastructure of the centers, law and order situation and installation of CCTV cameras.

After inspecting the centers, Deputy Commissioner and District Returning Officer Md. Abdullah Al Mahmud told reporters, “As you know, the 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum will be held on February 12, 2026. There are two parliamentary constituencies in Magura district, Magura-1 and Magura-2.

Magura-1 consists of Magura Sadar and Sreepur upazilas. We have come to inspect Sreepur today. We have 301 polling stations in Magura district. 58 polling stations in Sreepur upazila of Magura-1 constituency.

All these polling stations are covered by CCTV cameras. The most risky law enforcement agencies will have body cameras. We have completed all preparations for travel to the polling stations, voting, and security. We have already started campaigning for the referendum.

There is coordination between all our departments. All our preparations have been completed, we are just waiting for February 12.
